Last week we reported that Jeremiah Bishop (Monavie-Cannondale.com) had been riding a 650b front wheel on his Cannondale Scalpel. Then we questioned if he would be brave enough to race the large diameter wheel at the Pro XCT opener in Fontana. On Sunday Bishop saddled up his Scalpel, 650b leading the way, and rode to a top-10 finish.
Bishop's 650b front wheel comes courtesy of Stan's No Tubes and is mounted with a Kenda Nevegal tire. Bishop is using the 650b on a Cannondale Lefty SL fork which sports a full 110mm of travel. After the race a clearly pleased Bishop said, "This bike steers so well with the 650b on the front, it just rolls."
In addition to the trick front wheel, Monavie-Cannondale ran all new 56 gram Scrub Component brake rotors. Scrub has produced 100 specially anodized rotors in Monavie-Cannondale green.
