Early Results from the Cohutta 100: First Race Of The National Ultra-Endurance Series

2008 National Ultra-Endurance (NUE) Series Champion Jeff Schalk (Trek Racing Co-Op) has conquered the first NUE race of  2009.  An impressive ride was needed by Schalk to defeat Marathon National Champion Jeremiah Bishop (Monavie-Cannondale.com) who finished second.

Carey Lowery (The Outdoor Store/Specialized) took first for the women. Lowery finished 3rd in last year's Cohutta 100.

The Cohutta 100 is a 100 mile ultra-endurance mountain bike event and the traditional first race of the National Ultra-Endurance series. The Cohutta 100, which takes place in Copperhill, Tennessee, features a mix of singletrack and dirt road.
